Define
No design process can begin without proper expectation setting and alignment. I begin every project with proper definition of the problem and scoping of expectations to understand all constraints and known success metrics. I believe that constraints breed creativity and those must be identified as early as possible.
Once this is known we must understand the needs of our audience and users before any solutions can be made with any level of confidence.
Ideate
Here comes the fun part. Ideation is a process that should be peppered with as many and all tactics that help the designer think outside the box to push the boundaries of existing paradigms while meeting all core needs. We have to challenge ourselves to not just create solutions categorised by endless minor tweaks. At some point you have to jump from the skateboard to the bicycle.
Prototype

There is no better way to see your ideas in action than with a prototype. Whether rapid or as fully clickable micro interaction filled no-code apps, visualising solutions in the right context is vital to success.
Test & iterate
Design keeps going where artistry calls it a day. We have to know that our solutions communicate effectively and serve a unique purpose. Testing in a real life unbiased setting is the only true way to vet your products. From here we ever improve. We must be vigilant to not just iterate into making the perfect button margins, the users have more misunderstood needs, let's go find them!
Ask bigger questions
Time to dig deeper, figure out the real troubles, nothing is untouchable if you can influence it positively. Designers are equipped with a super power to take things apart for the sole reason to build it back again, don't be afraid to explore and ask questions that seem above your pay grade... they always will be unless you invite yourself to the conversation. Everything can be designed and a designer should be just as strategic as tactical.
